About the Gender Development Laboratory
In our lab, we put gender differences and stereotypes into test and study how different factors affect gender development. We are particularly interested in the intersection of gender and important real-life issues. For example, we ask whether gender-disparities in development are intensified by social class, how gender-segregated schooling affects students’ sensitivity to others’ gender and their ability to interact peers of a different gender, and how children react to peers who are gender-nonconforming. Besides gender, we are also broadly interested in studying developmental and social phenomena, such as how accurately people understand each other and fallacies in people's common beliefs.

We cultivate a close-knit team of devoted and supportive members who share the common interest and motivation to strive for the rigorous scientific investigation of the role of gender and human development in general.
